Former Directors of Google and Facebook Share Insights with Students of Hoa Sen University’s Master’s Program
In the dynamic social landscape of today, the issue of inertia presents a challenge for numerous multinational corporations operating in Vietnam. Mr. Huynh Kim Tuoc, Former Director of Google and Facebook in Vietnam, addressed this concern by sharing his insights on navigating crises faced by international businesses. He delivered these remarks during the Opening Ceremony of Hoa Sen University’s (HSU) Master’s program on December 10, 2022.
Mr. Huynh Kim Tuoc, currently serving as CEO of UL VS Vietnam Co., Ltd. and Vice Chairman of the Digital Economy and Technology Subcommittee of the American Chamber of Commerce, imparted his wisdom to graduate students during the Opening Ceremony of Hoa Sen University’s Master’s program on December 10, 2022. As the former Director of Google and Facebook in Vietnam, Mr. Tuoc shared valuable insights with the students at Masters’ programs.
Mr. Huynh Kim Tuoc, presently serving as CEO of UL VS Vietnam Co., Ltd. and Vice Chairman of the Digital Economy and Technology Subcommittee of the American Chamber of Commerce, candidly addressed the graduate community at Hoa Sen University. Emphasizing the importance of preparedness, he stressed that leaders must always be poised to navigate businesses through times of crisis. Drawing from his extensive experience as the former Director of Google and Facebook in Vietnam, Mr. Tuoc shared authentic anecdotes from his tenure overseeing international business operations amidst the Vietnamese economic landscape. He also provided invaluable insights into the skills required for effective collaboration with professional partners.

Continuing Hoa Sen University’s tradition of “real learning by doing,” graduate students have actively questioned the applicability of their knowledge from the master’s program in finding solutions to aid multinational corporations in Vietnam to recover and thrive once more. Mr. Kim Tuoc emphasized the importance of critical thinking and problem-solving, stating, “We must always respond to a question with another question to effectively address the issue. Based on my personal experience, the master’s program equips us with the ability to think systematically and analyze situations using specific data and information.” Furthermore, he commented on the forthcoming development trends of multinational enterprises, highlighting key factors such as environmental sustainability, regeneration, and localization as pivotal areas of focus in the years ahead.
On the afternoon of December 10, 2022, the Institute of Graduate Studies & Leadership joyously hosted an Opening Ceremony to warmly welcome new students enrolled in the Master of Business Administration, English Language Studies, and Tourism and travel service management. Representing the School, MSc. Nguyen Hai Ninh, Vice Rector of Hoa Sen University, pledged to furnish the incoming students with a high-quality, globally competitive learning environment centered around four pillars: education, research, practical application, and networking. Extending a heartfelt welcome to the new members of the Hoa Sen family, MSc. Nguyen Hai Ninh expressed, “I firmly believe that students have been meticulously prepared and are poised to successfully complete the training program with commendable results and adherence to the schedule. With our ethos of open education, I am confident that upon completion of the course, students will emerge as the best versions of themselves, poised to surpass boundaries, overcome challenges, and assert their inherent value.”
From the onset of the graduate program, new students have been immersed in an environment brimming with accomplished peers and alumni from various master’s programs at Hoa Sen University. Many alumni have attained notable achievements and assumed leadership positions in management and business ownership roles. In line with the university’s entrepreneurial ethos, students in the master’s programs are afforded numerous opportunities to engage with real-world scenarios through seminars, talk shows, specialized classes, hands-on learning experiences at businesses, and networking events facilitated by the Council of Lecturers – Entrepreneurs within the graduate program.
