Position: National Transportation Manager
Job description
Detailed understanding of the transport industry in Vietnam including transport companies, hubs and routes, loading and un/loading practices, government legislation and imposed vehicle restrictions
Prepare, manage and select appropriate vendor rates for Toll business (100% compliance)
Support business growth through development and costing of innovative and productive transport solutions
Prepare the transport solutions section of tender response documents for presentation to customers
Support the optimization and renewal of current transport contracts through review of current operating processes, removal of bottlenecks and introduction of innovations to enhance financial returns and create barriers to exit for customers
Develop a detailed understanding of the transport market in Vietnam. Identify potential partner subcontractors and develop strong working relationships with them.
Understand market rates for main transport lanes in Vietnam and work with subcontractors to ensure that Toll is sourcing the most competitive rates possible
Participate in regular subcontractor performance reviews and help to manage subcontractors and ensure they are compliant to legislature and safety requirements
Meet with customers to develop a detailed understanding of their business requirements and future objectives and develop solutions consistent with those requirements
Present solutions to customers in a confident and professional manner
Regularly engage with and build solid working relationships with other internal business departments including BD, SCS, procurement, operations, finance, IT, HR and HSSE
Present solutions for internal sign off citing potential risks to the business and strategies that have been applied for risk mitigation
Manage daily Operations transport executions and P&L of each account in line with Ops leaders and allocated transport supervisors.
Meet expected budgets and plans of Transportation department.
Job requirements
5 years or more working experience in a Transportation solutions, planning, and/or operations as the same role
Undergraduate qualifications in Mathematics, Industrial Engineering and/or Transportation. Master’s in Transportation/Logistics/Supply Chain Management and/or MBA is an advantage.
Able to use English at work
IE/Lean/Six Sigma or equivalent competencies an advantage
Strong MS Office, especially Microsoft Excel. Working knowledge of operating systems incl WMS/TMS/ERP and interfacing thereby an advantage.
