E-COMMERCE INDUSTRY TRAINING WORKSHOP IN 2022
On September 9, 2022, at Hoa Sen University, the E-Commerce Training Conference for universities in Ho Chi Minh City took place. The conference was jointly organized by the Department of E-Commerce and Digital Economy and the Vietnam E-Commerce Association.

Over the past two years, experiencing the COVID-19 pandemic with severe socio-economic impacts, however, the e-commerce sector continues to maintain rapid growth. It is estimated that by 2021 this field will reach a growth rate exceeding 20% and reach a scale of over 16 billion USD. This speed will be much higher in the four years 2022 – 2025 thanks to good control of the COVID-19 pandemic and growth drivers from the Second Wave of e-commerce.
The 2020 and 2022 E-commerce Index report emphasized high-quality human resources in e-commerce at millions of small and medium-sized enterprises as well as business households across the country as one of the decisive factors. determines the rapid and sustainable development of e-commerce in our country in the coming period. The main channel for training professional, high-quality e-commerce human resources is universities.
Decision No. 645/QD-TTg dated May 15, 2020, of the Prime Minister approving the National E-commerce Development Master Plan for the period 2021 – 2025 has set two goals on human resource training. The first goal is for 50% of higher education and vocational education institutions to deploy e-commerce training. The second goal is for one million businesses, business households, state management officials, and students to participate in training courses on e-commerce application skills.
The content of the conference is divided into two main topics:
Topic 1: Human resource development policy in the e-commerce industry and the current status of e-commerce training at universities in the city area. HCM
The content discussed in the first discussion session included assessing the level of response of human resources and the ability to fulfill the goals of training human resources with university degrees for the current development of e-commerce. today and some outstanding difficulties of universities when training in e-commerce.
Topic 2: Some issues related to e-commerce training at universities.
Content discussed in the second discussion session included educational quality accreditation, teaching and training methods. Promote and strengthen the connection between universities and businesses to associate with practical training. Finally, thanks to the conference on e-commerce training at universities, students had the opportunity to learn about development policies and an overview of the training situation of e-commerce human resources.
According to experts, e-commerce training currently has many difficulties, including the shortage of lecturers at universities, especially schools that have just opened a commerce training major. e-commerce. Besides, the issue of cooperation between businesses and training institutions is still not deep enough. Although businesses have participated in teaching work, there has not been long-term, in-depth cooperation in the development of e-commerce learning materials at universities.
