APPLICATION OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE IN HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT – FROM AN EXPERT’S PERSPECTIVE
Today, artificial intelligence (AI) is everywhere and brings many benefits to global businesses. AI helps save time and costs and changes many traditional jobs today. The question is: Will AI bring negative effects to organizations in general and human resource management activities in particular?
To bring knowledge as well as a practical perspective on AI in human resource management, the Department of Human Resource Management, Faculty of Economics & Management, Hoa Sen University organized the seminar “How AI changes the future of HR management – Theory to Reality “ at 9:00 a.m. Saturday, October 24, 2020. The seminar was pleased to welcome Mr. Pham Manh Khoi – Human Resources Director of L’Oréal Vietnam and his colleagues; Dr. Tran Nam Quoc – Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Economics & Management, Ms. Nguyen Thuy Giang – Program Coordinator of Energy Management, Ms. Do Thi Thuc Uyen – Teacher of Energy Management, Ms. Nguyen Thi Be – Teacher of Tourism Department and more than 200 lecturers, student at Hoa Sen University.
Dr. Tran Nam Quoc shared that in the flow of the 4.0 industrial era, the application of AI is a strategy that needs to be emphasized by businesses to create competitive advantages. As an educator, the Faculty of Economics & Management, specifically the Human Resources Management Department, always aims to help students feel and understand the realities of the industry to prepare themselves for adaptation. and equipped with the necessary skills. Dr. Tran Nam Quoc would like to thank Mr. Pham Manh Khoi for spending his precious Saturday morning sharing with Hoa Sen University students.
In his presentation, Mr. Pham Manh Khoi also sent his gratitude to the Faculty of Economics and Management for training many high-quality experts and human resources employees with strong character for the labor market. He shared the perspective of a human resources expert with more than 20 years of experience on the topic of the seminar.
In theory, AI can support human resources management in many areas such as screening and selecting candidates; training and development, evaluation, and employee consulting… in forms such as virtual assistants, chatbot applications, and big data analysis… However, when applying AI, businesses need to consider factors such as business strategy, the true value of AI for businesses, and change management for the entire organization… Especially how to make AI become a powerful arm for businesses. but does not lose the identity of the business, and AI supports, not replaces, the role of the human resources department.
AI issues are constantly posed for students to debate and are summarized through the knowledge and experiences of guests. In addition, Mr. Pham Manh Khoi also shared sincerely about the human resources profession. How to pass interview questions? Or how to become a successful human resources manager?
