Expressing the pleasure to witness the fast-moving and sustainable development of HSU over the past 30 years, Professor Ren Yi said, USQ is looking forward to cooperating with one prestigious private university like HSU to transform delivering its advanced training programs in Vietnam, offering opportunities to access a high Australian-class education for Vietnamese students. 

Emphasizing HSU’s orientation with the goal of becoming a university with international standards, in the near future, Dr. Phan Thi Viet Nam proposed a number of specific training areas that the two sides could cooperate in order to meet the increasingly competitive requirements of the labor market in Vietnam.

Besides traditional on-campus training programs, this is also Australia’s leading higher education institution in providing the online learning platform, blended model (online combined offline) for training levels from bachelor, master, to doctorate.

As a university pursuing a liberal arts philosophy, HSU is constantly looking for opportunities to cooperate with prestigious global universities to bring an “international standard�?learning environment to HSU students in Vietnam.

With this cooperation, both institutions will jointly deploy the Global Master of Business Administration (Global MBA) program, which is conducted entirely through the online platform. Specifically, the entire academic program, as well as the teaching personnel, will be undertaken by SRH. After completing the training program, HSU students will be awarded degrees by SRH.

On behalf of the Board of Directors of HSU, Dr. Phan Thi Vietnam – Vice-President also expressed her pleasure to witness the intimate cooperation relationship between the two institutions and expected the training programs delivered by SRH to be soon implemented. 

Emphasizing labor opportunities for Vietnamese students under the context of globalization, Dr. Berndt Tilp – Director of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) in Ho Chi Minh City highly appreciated the efforts of SRH and HSU in applying for technological advances in higher education and training. “This will be an open door to help learners become more outstanding in the competitive domestic as well as international labor market.�?/p>

Oriented to an international standard university, HSU has been seeking and cooperating with global prestigious universities to provide high-quality training programs to local students as well as Asian students.

At the intimate meeting, the FOI representative shared some information about the project, which focuses on goals such as: promoting Irish culture; training and capacity building; connect and establishing partner networking. The delegates exchanged, discussed, and realized many similarities as well as the potential to cooperate.

In particular, with the orientation of becoming an international standard university together with respecting the differences, and building an entrepreneurial spirit for students, HSU hopes that cooperation with the Irish Embassy in Vietnam, CSDS, and FOI will be well developed. This will be considered as the premise for the parties to coordinate and organize projects related to culture, education, and community development for students, increasing the learning and practice experience for students during their time at Hoa Sen University.

Supporting HSU’s orientation with the goal of becoming a university with international standards, the new Moroccan honorary consul in HCMC, Mr. Doan Huu Duc,  the current member of the scientific council of Hoa Sen University, proposed that HSU should actively support students to improve their foreign language communication skills as well as digital technology application. The two sides exchanged cooperation possibilities to facilitate for HSU students and lecturers to exchange with the consulates operating in Ho Chi Minh City and the foreign business community through the  International Chamber of Commerce �?Along with cultivating communication skills, this is an opportunity to develop life skills for students through social activities, community development at national and international levels.

Specifically, in order to  step by step implement the above proposals, VCG and its member businesses will introduce connections and opportunities to HSU  to develop projects related to art and culture conservation, community service projects such as UNICEF’s Child-Friendly Cities Initiative, helping to connect and develop networkings with AmCham, EuroCham, BritCham, AusCham… Especially through Morocco, HSU can learn about the culture, education, and economy of the Arab League of 22 countries with a community of more than 1.4 billion Muslims around the world to help students find start-up projects and outline practical activities to create the student experiencing playground. Additionally, with the internationalizing tendency aiming to orient HSU students to become global citizens, HSU needs to improve its digital-based foreign language learning programs and methods at different levels, especially English as a Second Language (ESL) and English as Medium of Instruction (EMI). “As training institutions , we can  improve learning programs and bring to students the most effective ways of self-training English based on information technology applications.  VCG will introduce HSU international funded projects to support the improvement of digital skills for HSU’s human resources , and foreign language learning on  modern digital platforms,” shared Mr. Nguyen Xuan Dung.

On behalf of  the Consulate, Mr. Doan Huu Duc also informed  that on December 15th, 2021, the Ministry of Education and Training of Vietnam cooperated with the Moroccan Ministry of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Innovation held the conference and signed a Letter of Intent to cooperate, along with a twin sister plan of Casablanca and Ho Chi Minh City to expand cooperation opportunities between Vietnamese and Moroccan universities. Accordingly, Hoa Sen University will have the opportunity to support the development of Oriental Studies such as a project to create Arabic studies, implement cultural and art exchange activities between Vietnam and Morocco.

It is expected that in the near future, the two organizations will sign an MOU to tighten the bilateral relationship and bring more added values ​​to HSU students, especially the students of the Faculty of Design and Art during 4 years of studying  at the HSU campus.

The MoU signing ceremony was solemnly organized with the participation of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vo Thi Ngoc Thuy – HSU’s President and members of the Board of Directors as well as several Deans. On the De Montfort University side, there has been the presence of Mr. Simon Bradbury – Pro Vice-Chancellor President and a number of Deans. Moreover, the ceremony was also attended by the representative of the British Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City, Ms. Ho Thi Kim Phuong �?Trade Manager (Education).

After a long-time negotiation, up to the present, the two universities have agreed on a model of training cooperation in the field of higher education. Specifically, Vietnamese students will be able to study Bachelor and Master programs of De Montfort University at Hoa Sen University. Upon completion of the program, students will be awarded the degrees by  De Montfort University.

Through this cooperation, Vietnamese students will have the opportunity to access the UK’s world-class high-quality education in Vietnam without having to spend as much as the traditional way of studying abroad.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vo Thi Ngoc Thuy believes that the MoU signing Ceremony between Hoa Sen University and De Montfort University will create a solid foundation for the cooperation relationship in the field of higher education between the two countries, from which many high-quality British training programs will be provided to Vietnamese students through the excellent teaching staff of Hoa Sen University in the near future.

“De Montfort University is in the top 200 young universities in the Time Higher Education World University Ranking and in the top 25 best universities in the UK which focuses on training, equipping students with necessary skills for their career path after graduation as well as providing high-quality human resources for society”, said Pro Vice-Chancellor President. Mr. Simon Bradbury.

“Today’s MoU signing Ceremony is a clear demonstration of the strategic partnership between the two universities, thereby providing better learning opportunities for Vietnamese students,�?said Mr. Simon Bradbury.

During the ceremony, Deans from the two universities also expressed their joy about this cooperation relationship and pledged to work together in professional fields to bring the highest quality of training to learners.

Ms. Ho Thi Kim Phuong – Trade Manager (Education) of the British Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City expressed her pleasure to witness the MoU signing ceremony between Hoa Sen University and De Montfort University. Besides, she hopes that the two institutions will continue to cooperate closely so that Vietnamese students can soon access high-quality academic programs from the UK.

Through the Signing Ceremony, HSU wants to further promote the student’s experience as well as improve the training of international bilingual standards, helping students to gradually approach the global academic environment and labor market.

During the meeting, Mr. Stefan Hase – Bergen highly appreciated the long-term cooperation relationship between Hoa Sen University and DAAD, especially in the field of scientific research and academic exchange. He also expressed his wish to continue promoting more potential projects of mutual interest.

In particular, Mr. Ngoc Vu  shared about the cooperation plan between HSU and a German university for the MBA program taught at Hoa Sen University, which is expected to enroll students in the near future. HSU expressed the wish that DAAD will continue to support initiatives and projects implemented by faculties and HSU students. 

In addition to affirming the training quality of Germany’s world-class education, Mr. Stefan Hase – Bergen added that there are various learning and research opportunities for Vietnamese students to study programs from Master’s to Doctoral degrees taught in English. With a degree from a German university, Vietnamese students will have many opportunities to access the German potential labor market. 

At the end of the meeting, the two sides agreed to strengthen cooperation in the coming time, in which, DAAD will have specific activities at Hoa Sen University such as: appointing DAAD Ambassador in Ho Chi Minh City for a lecturer at Hoa Sen University; inviting experts and professors from Germany for short-term exchange; equipping books, newspapers and research materials for the HSU library; provides scholarships exclusively for HSU students…
