Google honored the group of HSU students who reached the TOP 3 of the Solution Challenge 2022
On September 7, 2022, Hoa Sen University (HSU) cooperated with Google to organize the event “Developing applications for the community” to inspire students’ passion for technology and at the same time, awarded certificates to the top 4 students of the Solution Challenge 2022.
At the event, nearly 200 students had a session to listen to the sharing of practical experiences that helped the Gateway (*) project of the group of HSU students, the first representative of Vietnam to win the top prize of Google’s global Solution Challenge and be “inspired” by passion to confidently step forward, bringing many student projects to international technology playgrounds. In addition, the representative of Google also awarded certificates to honor 4 students with outstanding achievements of HSU.
Vietnam is one of the countries with a great source of talent in Programming and Information Technology not only in Southeast Asia but also Asia. This is reflected in the achievements that application developers in Vietnam have achieved in international Programming and Technology playgrounds, these can be mentioned the final top 3 achievements that Gateway students from Hoa Sen University have achieved in Google’s Solution Challenge 2022 recently, and the Sharepy project of a group of students from the University of Science and Technology entered the top 10 best projects of the Solution Challenge 2020.
Ms. Janise Tan, Southeast Asia Developer Community Manager, Google Asia-Pacific said: “In 2021, Vietnam recorded 5,600 new technology companies, leading to a high demand for digital workers in the Information Technology sector. This demand will always increase and this will be the future recruitment trend when all industries and fields are digitized. Through community events such as the ‘Developing Apps for the Community’ event at Hoa Sen University, we hope not only to continue to inspire the next generation of talented Vietnamese students, but also to share many training scholarships, practical support programs help students actively improve their skills, knowledge and practical experience not only in Vietnam but globally. With a good source of talent, we believe Vietnam will have more breakthrough technology applications to serve the community and develop the digital economy in a sustainable way.”
The event “Developing apps for the community” not only aims to inspire inspiration and passion for technology students, Google and HSU are also committed to accompanying and supporting technology students to create a strong and sustainable community through many practical activities and playgrounds held regularly every year by Google Developer Student Clubs, closely following the latest technology trends in the world (I/O extend…etc).
In addition to supporting human resource training for Vietnam’s digital transformation as well as promoting the potential of Vietnamese IT students, Google introduces Google Play Academy (Google Play Academy)– a free self-study platform for anyone who wants to publish apps on Google Play with 100+ mini courses that build seamlessly and throughout based on the app development journey and the Google Career Certificates (Digital Talent Development Program) program of free Information Technology related courses on the Coursera platform.
