The Office of Testing – Quality Assurance accomplished outstanding results in quality assurance and accreditation of higher education
On November 26, 2020, at Van Lang University, the Ministry of Education and Training held a conference to summarize the quality assurance and accreditation of universities and pedagogical colleges, as well as to discuss the directions and responsibilities for quality assurance and accreditation of universities and colleges in the 2021-2025 timeframe.
During this conference, the Office of Testing – Quality Assurance of Hoa Sen University was honored to receive the Certificate of Merit from the Ministry of Education and Training for achieving outstanding achievements in quality assurance and accreditation of universities and pedagogical colleges in the 2011-2020 timeframe.
Furthermore, Dr. Phan Thi Viet Nam, Head of the Office of Testing – Quality Assurance, was honored to receive a certificate of merit with the title of individual with outstanding accomplishments in quality assurance and accreditation of universities and pedagogical colleges from 2011 to 2020.
Since 2011, Hoa Sen University’s University Council and Board of Presidents have determined that quality assessment and accreditation (at the institutional and program levels) is one of the most crucial responsibilities, as well as an important step in quality assurance and the development of the University’s quality culture. Since 2011, the Office of Testing – Quality Assurance has been striving diligently to (1) organize training sessions to help divisions understand the concept of self-assessment, (2) implement self-review and assessment of the current quality, (3) implement improvement plans to meet quality criteria, and (4) improve the internal quality assurance system.
In the context of continuous changes in quality assurance principles and assessment standards, as well as organizational structure and development orientation at the University, the Office of Testing – Quality Assurance and Testing has encountered many difficulties in enhancing the internal quality assurance system, implementing quality assurance efforts, and in particular collecting information, data, evidence, and cooperation with other divisions in the University during the self-assessment and site visit processes. However, thanks to the Board of Presidents’ support and encouragement and the effort of the Office of Testing – Quality in general and its staff in particular, we have overcome the challenges and achieved those outstanding results.
- Program Accreditation
• 5 programs accredited by ACBSP in 2015, namely Business Administration, Human Resources Management, Marketing, Finance – Banking, and Accounting
• 2 programs successfully assessed by AUN-QA in May 2019, including English Language Studies and Hotel Management. - Institutional Accreditation: Hoa Sen University was officially assessed at the institutional level by the Center for Education Accreditation – Association of Vietnam Universities and Colleges in November 2019 and granted the accreditation certificate in February 2020.
- Auditing by QS Stars: Hoa Sen University has finished submitting the required evidence by QS Stars.
Through the past ten years, the Office of Testing – Quality Assurance has developed a comprehensive system of quality assurance documentation (including the Quality Assurance Strategic Plan, Quality Policy, Regulations/Regulations, Quality Handbook, and so on) as well as a system of quality survey documentation to guide and organize the University’s quality assurance.
Every year, the Office of Testing – Quality Assurance develops and releases a disclosure report on the division’s website to assist people find information quickly and conveniently.
Communication on quality assurance was also carried out through the development of the division’s website, which provides comprehensive details on the university’s quality assurance to society. At the same time, it serves as a communication way for universities and quality accreditation bodies, both nationally and internationally. Quality culture was initially formed and developed at Hoa Sen University.
This certificate of merit awarded by the Ministry of Education and Training for higher education quality assurance and accreditation is an honor for Hoa Sen University, as well as an encouragement for Hoa Sen University staff to strive and make efforts in quality assurance and accreditation.
